IPTV Smarters or Televizo? An honest comparison

Published 2 September 2026 Last updated: 2026-09-16

There are many IPTV players and each has strengths and weaknesses. This guide compares them one by one, without crowning an absolute winner: the right choice depends on the device you own. One important note: all of them are independent third-party software, not affiliated with TV8Live.

IPTV Smarters Pro: the most versatile

The advantage of IPTV Smarters Pro is that it runs on many platforms: Windows, Android, iOS and televisions. It is a good choice if you move often between computer and TV, and the interface offers a well-built electronic guide and, in the desktop versions, recording.

Limits: it is the heaviest player here, and on entry-level devices it can feel slow. If your box has 2 GB of RAM, consider something lighter.

Televizo and Nanomid: the simplest

Televizo and Nanomid are similar: clean interfaces, three fields to fill in, no complicated setup. They are the sensible pick on modest televisions and boxes, because they run well with little memory.

Shared limits: neither supports recording, and advanced features are few. If you need a full-featured player, Kodi or Smarters are better; if you just want to watch, these are the fastest route.

Guides: Televizo and Nanomid.

Smart IPTV and SS IPTV: for Samsung

Both are tied to Samsung Tizen televisions and have the advantage of requiring no installation. SS IPTV is already in the firmware and launches from the Media menu: it is the fastest of all. Smart IPTV offers a tidier interface and a better guide, but takes a longer activation.

Limits: they only work on Samsung Tizen. If your TV runs Android TV, you need something else.

Guides: Smart IPTV and SS IPTV.

Kodi: the media centre

Kodi is not an IPTV player: it is a full media centre in which playlists are added as video sources. It is by far the most flexible option, because you can organise films, music and playlists in the same environment, and it is the only one here that supports recording on every platform.

Limits: it is also the most demanding to configure, and on a computer with little memory it can freeze. It runs on the computer and is projected to the television over HDMI.

Read the Kodi guide if that is your route.
